Requirements
Required: CSTV / GOTV must be activated in the webinterface before demos can appear in the archive.
To activate TV recording, see the full CSTV / GOTV guide.
Recommended: Use the pre-installed MatchZy tool for automatic demo recording during pracs, scrims and matches.

Create download
The demo is usually available in the webinterface after about 60 seconds.
If the page does not update automatically, refresh it once with F5.
Important: If a demo has not been created in the webinterface yet and was already deleted manually via FTP, it can no longer be shared or downloaded through the demo archive.

Demo Availability
The webpanel shows exactly how long a demo will remain available.
General retention: Demos are automatically deleted from the gameserver after 8 days.
A demo that has been made available through the webinterface stays downloadable for another 8 days after the creation date.
Important: The displayed deletion date refers to the download creation date, not the original game recording date.
Where do the Demo Files Have to Go
After downloading the ZIP file, unpack it and copy the .dem file into your local CS2 folder.
Default path:
Program Files (x86) → Steam → steamapps → common → Counter-Strike Global Offensive → game → csgo → insert .dem file(s)
Alternative via Steam client:
Steam → Library → Counter-Strike → Properties → Installed Files → Browse → game → csgo → insert .dem file(s)
How to View a Demo
To watch a demo in CS2:
- Activate the developer console in the game settings
- Open the console
- Run the command:
playdemo "filename"
You may also need to start the game with the -console launch parameter if your setup requires it.
No Demo Available
If the webinterface shows:
No demos available
then one of the following is usually true:
CSTV not activated No demo recorded yet Match still running Recording not finished yet
A demo usually only appears after the recorded game has ended successfully.
