FAKE RCON

Unfortunately there are still problems to use RCON since the release of CS2, but with the plugin FAKE RCON you can mange your CS2 Gameserver, how to do that and how to install FAKE RCON you will learn in this guide.

PROBLEM

In the current server version from CS2, commands like rcon changelevel are not accepted, so we need a solution here.

FAKE RCON PLUGIN

The Fake RCON plugin takes care of this problem and allows you to execute the commands on the server again and thus manage the server.

INSTALL PLUGIN

We install the plugin FAKE RCON on all CKRAS gameservers by default, so you don't have to do anything until you enter your desired password in the rcon.txt.

You can edit the rcon.txt via FTP, the FTP data can be found in the webinterface under Gameserver (top right tab) under FTP Accounts. Then enter the data into an FTP programme, e.g. Filezilla, and use the default port 21.

The file rcon.txt can be found in the following folder:

/cs2/game/bin/linuxsteamrt64

fake_rcon_password YOURPASSWORD

fake_rcon changelevel de_dust2

fake_rcon mp_restartgame
